Online Patient Education Library

Welcome to our Online Education Library! I have created this section to serve as a resource for my patients and their family members so that they may fully understand their diagnosis and the treatment plan recommended.

Too many surgeons spend too little time teaching patients about their condition or injury and do not fully explain how the recommended treatment will help the problem. I am not one of those types of surgeons.

At every visit you will receive a thorough explanation of your diagnosis and its treatment from me personally. However, this is only the beginning of your personalized educational experience.  Before you leave the office you will also receive a personalized Patient Education Prescription, to provide you direct online access to accurate, up-to-date, and easy to understand information about your condition.

Instead of spending hours searching our library for the right information, we provide you "one-click" access directly to the information you need. By entering your "Education Prescription" number or keyword in the box to the left and hitting submit you will be taken directly to the section of our website dealing specifically with that topic. No more struggling to remember "What did the doctor call it?"

With your Patient Education Prescription it's as simply as 1-2-3: Type, Click, and Read!

The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons is the national organization of all orthopedic surgeons dedicated to education about the practice of orthopedic surgery.  They create countless educational resources both to educate surgeons and to educate the public on all conditions and injuries that affect the bones, ligaments, tendons, and nerves. We have provided a collection of their resources for your educational benefit.  Please remember, Dr. Grabow provides this as a service to his patients, and recommends you visit this section AFTER you have been seen, examined and your condition has been diagnosed. Do not initiate any self treatment based on this information without first consulting a physician. Many conditions may seem similar to you but are clearly differentiated by a trained professional.
